Locksmith Answering Service

Why locksmiths lose jobs while they're busy
Phone rings mid-job

You're picking a lock, replacing a cylinder, or making keys. The phone rings. You can't answer. By the time you're free, they've called another locksmith.

Same intake questions every call

Lockout, rekey, key duplication, safe opening, location, urgency – collected manually each time. One missed detail and the job stalls or needs a second trip.

Booked a slot – then no-show

They agreed on a time. No reminder sent. They forgot. You block the slot, drive out – no one home. Fuel wasted, morning gone, and they'll call another locksmith next time.

Emergency lockout – no reply for hours

Locked out at 2am. They called. You're on another job. No response until morning. By then they've found an emergency locksmith. That job was yours.

What a busy day looks like

You're mid-job drilling out a cylinder. Three missed calls. By the time you're free, the assistant has already replied to all three – confirmed the address, asked what happened, and flagged which one is a live lockout. That one gets a callback slot within the hour.

The rekey inquiry is booked for Thursday. Confirmation out. Reminder the morning of – they're home when you arrive. The key duplication request got routed to your shop hours. Fewer calls to return manually, fewer jobs lost to voicemail.

Emergency or scheduled – every call gets handled the same way: fast reply, right questions, no dead air. Anyone who doesn't book gets a follow-up nudge before they call the next locksmith in search results.

How it works for your locksmith business
1
Missed call or new WhatsApp message

The assistant replies within seconds – while you're on a job or making keys. Caller gets a response, not silence.

2
Triage: emergency or scheduled?

Lockout, rekey, key cutting, safe opening – the assistant collects service type, address, and urgency. Live lockouts flagged separately. Out-of-area politely declined.

3
Slot confirmed or callback arranged

Scheduled jobs: customer picks a slot, confirmation goes out, reminder fires before the visit. Emergencies: callback window confirmed, no one left waiting in silence.

4
Every call logged, nothing missed

Name, address, service type, urgency, and slot – ready when you resurface. Live lockouts flagged separately so you see them first.

Keep jobs on track – and customers coming back

Scheduled jobs need reminders. Emergency customers become regulars – if you follow up.

Pre-visit reminders

Nudge the morning of – no manual chase, fewer no-shows.

Post-job follow-up

Job done. A short message goes out – need spare keys made, or locks rekeyed after a move? That's how one-time emergency calls become regulars.

Returning customer flow

Known contacts skip full intake – straight to scheduling, no duplicate questions.

Follow-up for non-bookers

Inquiry came in, no slot picked. A nudge goes out – while they're still deciding, not a week later.

Metrics that matter for a locksmith

Track whether calls are answered, emergencies get same-day responses, and scheduled jobs aren't ghosted.

Time to first reply

How fast a new call or message gets a response. Customers expect a quick reply – silence means they call another locksmith.

Intake completeness

Share of jobs arriving with service type, address, and urgency attached. Fewer surprises when you show up.

Scheduled job completion rate

Share of booked non-emergency visits that went ahead – no wasted drives. Track whether reminders cut no-shows on rekeying and key cutting appointments.

Emergency response time

How fast a missed lockout call gets a WhatsApp reply. People in lockout situations don't wait – no response in minutes means they've already called the next locksmith.

How credits work

Every plan gives you one monthly pool of credits, and each bot reply draws from that same pool: an AI text conversation costs 10 credits, a button bot conversation 1 credit, a voice conversation 100 credits, and 1,000 embeddings 1 credit. The numbers in each plan are alternatives, not extras — 1,000 credits is 100 AI conversations or 1,000 button conversations or 10 voice conversations, in any combination. When the pool runs out, extra credits are billed at your plan's credit price.

Frequently asked questions

About lockout emergencies, scheduled jobs, and service coverage.

What service types can it handle – lockouts, rekeys, key duplication?

You define your services – lockouts, rekeys, key duplication, safe opening, etc. The assistant collects the right intake from the customer and matches it to your expertise. Out-of-scope or unusual requests flagged for manual review.

Can it prioritize emergencies?

Yes. When a customer says locked out, locked in, or lost keys, the assistant flags it as urgent. You see emergency requests first and can offer same-day slots before they call someone else.

Does it work for both emergency lockouts and scheduled jobs?

Yes. For emergencies – lockouts, broken keys, lost access – the assistant collects address and situation right away and flags the request as urgent. For scheduled jobs – rekeying, key cutting, safe opening – it books a slot, sends confirmation, and fires a reminder before the appointment.

Can it filter by service area?

Yes. You define your service zones. The assistant collects address and politely declines out-of-area requests – no wasted drive, no awkward callbacks.

What if the customer stops replying mid-intake?

The assistant sends a follow-up, then closes the flow if there's still no reply. The slot stays open. You can see the incomplete intake and decide whether to reach out manually.
